The Conservation Committee of the Middletown Garden Club has a long tradition of educating both the club and the community on the environmental concerns of our watershed and soils, forests and open spaces, global warming, and the endangered and invasive plant species in our midst. Each year our Conservation Chairperson attends a meeting in Washington where the National Affairs and Legislation Committee of GCA presents several days of meetings with key leaders on current environmental legislation, and then there are appointments with each person's representatives. This presence in D.C. holds respectable clout for the Garden Clubs of America.
